Launch Giveaway — Official Rules
1. Sponsor
This giveaway (the “Giveaway”) is sponsored by Dana Shalit, based in Nosara, Costa Rica (“Sponsor”).
2. Giveaway Period
Entries open August 18, 2026, the official launch day of Pathways to Self, and close at 12:00 PM EST on August 19, 2026. Entries received outside this window will not be counted.
3. Eligibility
• Open to individuals aged 18 and older, worldwide, except where prohibited by local law.
• Void in any jurisdiction where sweepstakes tied to a purchase are restricted or require separate registration.
• Sponsor and immediate family members of Sponsor are not eligible to enter.
4. How to Enter
Method 1 — Purchase Entry
Purchase a copy of Pathways to Self, in any format (paperback, Kindle, or audiobook), from any retailer link shared in Sponsor's newsletter or social media, on or after August 18, 2026. Then send proof of purchase to Sponsor by one of the following:
• Instagram or Facebook Messenger
• Email to pathwaystoselfbook@gmail.com
• Tagging @danashalit in a post or story on Instagram
Method 2 — Free Alternate Entry (No Purchase Necessary)
Entrants who prefer not to purchase the book may enter for free by sending Sponsor a message (Instagram/Facebook Messenger, or email to pathwaystoselfbook@gmail.com) sharing what they hope to get out of the book, in place of proof of purchase. This method carries the same odds of winning as a purchase entry.
Limit: one (1) base entry per person, regardless of method, plus any bonus ballots earned as described in Section 6.
5. Proof of Purchase
Because sales run through Amazon, purchases can't be verified automatically. Entrants verify manually by sending a screenshot of the Amazon order confirmation or “Your Orders” page showing the book title and order date, or by tagging Sponsor in a post or story showing the book. Order numbers and payment details do not need to be visible — only the title and date. Any format (paperback, Kindle, or audiobook) purchased through the linked retailer pages qualifies.
6. Bonus Ballots
Entrants who post publicly about the book on Instagram (a feed post or story) and tag @danashalit will receive two (2) ballots in the drawing instead of one, doubling their odds of winning. This applies whether the entrant used Method 1 or Method 2 above.
7. Prize
One (1) winner will receive one (1) spot at a retreat hosted at ORA in Nosara, Costa Rica, with a choice of two dates: December 2026 or February 2027.
Accommodation and retreat programming are included. Flights, travel insurance, visas, and personal incidentals are not included and are the winner's responsibility.
Retreat dates are subject to availability and will be coordinated directly with Sponsor. Prize is non-transferable, has no cash value, and cannot be substituted except at Sponsor's discretion.
8. Winner Selection & Notification
Winner will be chosen at random from all eligible ballots on August 28, 2026. Winner will be notified by Instagram DM, text, or email and must respond within 5 days to claim the prize, or an alternate winner may be selected. Odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible ballots received.
9. Use of Entrant Information
Entrant information (name and contact method) is used only to administer this Giveaway and, if the entrant opts in, for Sponsor's newsletter. It will not be sold to third parties.
10. Publicity
By entering, the winner agrees Sponsor may use their first name and general location when announcing the Giveaway results (e.g. on Instagram or in the newsletter), unless the winner opts out at the time of notification.
11. General Conditions
Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, suspend, or modify the Giveaway if fraud, technical failure, or any factor beyond Sponsor's control impairs its integrity.
Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, or misdirected entries.
This Giveaway is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Amazon, Meta, or Instagram.
12. Governing Law & Cross-Border Note
This Giveaway is organized from Costa Rica. Costa Rica regulates promotional draws (“sorteos”) tied to product promotion under Law 7472 and its implementing MEIC regulations. For entrants outside Costa Rica, this Giveaway is intended to comply with general “no purchase necessary” sweepstakes principles common to the US and similar jurisdictions.
Audiobook Bonus (Separate From the Giveaway)
The first eighteen (18) people who purchase Pathways to Self and tag @danashalit on Instagram will each receive a code for a free audiobook copy, provided directly by Sponsor. This bonus is first-come, first-served, is not a random drawing, and is separate from the Giveaway described above. The same tag can count toward both this bonus and the Giveaway entry/ballots.
